ACON's Mardi Gras 2007 campaign comprised of a series of 20 key health and wellbeing messages that were promoted throughout Mardi Gras 07 under the banner of Right Here, Right Now…get the facts and look after yourself.

The messages are based on facts or issues that are especially relevant to members of the GLBT community during Mardi Gras and cover areas such as HIV/AIDS, sexual health, alcohol and drugs, mental health and anti-violence. Each fact is followed up with advice on how to address the issue either by adopting particular behaviour or by seeking out professional help.

The messages targeted specific groups as well as the community in general and were strategically promoted in the GLBT and mainstream media via advertising and editorial, on a dedicated website, on posters in pubs, clubs and SOPV’s and on a range of merchandise that was given away at parties and events throughout the Mardi Gras season 07. The tone of the campaign was fun and a little bit cheeky because Mardi Gras is, after all, a party season.
