Help Make Discrimination Against Same-Sex Couples In NSW History

In NSW same-sex couples are currently not eligible to adopt. The Adoption Act is the last piece of legislation that directly discriminates against same-sex couples in NSW. Discrimination in adoption law does not serve the best interests of children. Clover Moore’s Adoption Amendment (Same-Sex Couples) Bill, if passed, will put an end to this unfair discrimination.

Relationships Register Passes In NSW

ACON has joined with the NSW Gay and Lesbian Rights Lobby (GLRL) in welcoming the passing of the Relationships Register Bill by the NSW Parliament. While not a substitute for Federal marriage reform, the registry scheme will provide greater relationship recognition for same-sex couples in NSW.
