Get Involved

There are many ways to get involved with the Aboriginal Project at ACON through participating in events and volunteering.

Get involved in our campaigns

ACON produces campaigns on a range of issues and we are always on the hunt for people to be involved in our campaigns - whether by attending focus groups to give feedback on draft materials before publication, or by appearing in the campaigns. We like to ensure the diversity of our community is represented in our campaign materials by including community 'models' from a range of cultural backgrounds and age groups, and with a range of looks and body-types - no experience is necessary. Are you interested? Submit your details to join our list of interested people.

Like to join the Advisory Group?

Our work with Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islander people is supported and guided by an Advisory Group consisting of Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islander people with relevant experience or skills in the areas of:

  • Sexual and gender diversity
  • HIV health
  • Health promotion
  • Education

The Advisory Group meets quarterly to give strategic direction to ACON’s work across all locations and projects, assisting ACON to continually improve the accessibility of the full range of its services and activities to Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islander people.

ACON is currently seeking applications from interested people to join our Aboriginal Advisory Group.
