ACON is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of our communities and while HIV/AIDS remains the greatest threat to the health of gay men, lesbians, bisexual and transgender communities there are a range of other health issues emering with increasing urgency. Suicide, alcohol and other drug misuse, and violence are among those disproportionately experienced by our communities and tackling these will also help reduce HIV infections.

ACON provides a range of health promotion, support and allied services for our communities. We offer counsellinghousing, home care and transport, enhanced care, treatments advice, information resources and access to our interactive Learning Centre. Our health promotion teams for HIV positive gay men and HIV positive women also provide support, information and groups for positive people, while our family support project provides services to families affected by HIV. We also provide social support services for gay and bisexual men and for lesbians and bisexual women in Sydney and in regional areas.
