Daytime Counselling

Sometimes it can help to talk to someone apart from your partner, family, or friends. Being able to bounce ideas and thoughts off someone can help you improve how you feel about yourself and open up new options and choices in your life.

Our aim

  • To listen to you talk about your thoughts, feelings, problems or concerns
  • To provide emotional and other support to you during challenging times
  • To help you to better manage difficult situations, tackle problems or life in general
  • To link you in with other services that can provide assistance

What we offer

We offer short-term counselling providing you with between 9 and 12 sessions per year. There is no charge for our Daytime Counselling service.

Intake and assessment

Everyone goes through an Intake and Assessment discussion to better understand your needs and which services you require. We will try our best to match you with a counsellor profile of your preference.

Waiting time

At times, there may be a waiting time. You will be informed of this at the end of the Intake and Assessment interview.  Your intake officer will keep you informed of your progress on the waiting list if we are unable to allocate you a counsellor within the first few days of calling us. We can also refer you to another counselling service if this waiting time is too long.

Counselling appointments

We offer appointments between 10am and 4:30pm. We require 24 hours notice if you are unable to attend your appointment so we can offer the session to someone else in need.

Confidentiality

The information you share with us is treated with the utmost confidentiality according to relevant policies and procedures.

Next steps

If you feel that counselling might be right for you, you can call our Intake and Assessment Officer between 11am and 1pm, Monday to Friday. He/she will listen to your needs and talk about the services available that might be best suited to you.
