Group Therapy - Assessment and Intake
Before you can join a therapy group, you’ll need to go through a two stage assessment process to see if the group will meet your needs.
The first stage is a phone interview with a coordinator of the program. The second stage is a face to face interview where you have the opportunity to meet the facilitators of the group and ask them questions. During this process the facilitators will be doing two things. They will assess the suitability of group therapy for the individual. They will also aim to select participants who will contribute to a constructive dynamic in the group. This may include consideration of gender, culture, age and personality types.
We typically receive more applications for the groups than we have places. This inevitably means that we cannot offer a place to every applicant. If this process will cause you distress you may wish to reconsider applying
