LGBTI Aged Care Training

This is a funded program of one day workshops on LGBTI inclusive service delivery in the workplace, for aged care sector workers and organisations providing aged care services. This program is delivered nationally through a variety of organisations across the country at no cost from February 2014 to April 2016 inclusive.

HIV Awareness

For over 30 years ACON has been New South Wales’ leading health promotion organisation specialising in HIV prevention and HIV support for LGBTI people and people living with HIV, engaging through health promotion programs, educational campaigns, research and advocating for rights and inclusion.

The HIV conversation has broadened into the workplace and many organisations are keen to learn more about how they can not only support their staff who may be living with HIV but how they can build awareness among all staff. We offer customised training and consultancy packages specifically aimed at building awareness of HIV, transmission risks, treatment options and how to support those who live with or are affected by HIV.

This essential information is not just for the health care sector but applicable across any sector or industry.

Rainbow Tick and HOW2

The Rainbow Tick is an accreditation consisting of six national standards designed to demonstrate LGBTI inclusive practice and service delivery. Services that receive the Rainbow Tick will have the opportunity to be listed in a national register of LGBTI accredited organisations.

Applicable to any organisation, regardless of industry, the Rainbow Tick is a world first and was developed by Gay and Lesbian Health Victoria (GLHV) in consultation with Quality Innovation Performance (QIP), who are now recognised as the accreditation provider for these standards.

The HOW2 Program, also developed by GLHV, consists of four training workshops run over six months with the goal of supporting organisations to develop and implement LGBTI inclusive practices and to meet each of the six standards of the Rainbow Tick.

To assist you with preparing for Rainbow Tick accreditation, we offer the HOW2 training program and LGBTI-inclusion consulting services to ensure your organisation can demonstrate competency and meet all the required six standards:

  1. Organisational capability
  2. Consumer consultation
  3. LGBTI cultural safety
  4. Disclosure and documentation
  5. Professional development
  6. Access and intake

LGBTI Workplace Inclusion – Pride In Diversity

Pride in Diversity is Australia’s first and only not-for-profit workplace program designed specifically to assist Australian employers with the inclusion of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) employees.

As a member-based program, Pride in Diversity works closely with HR, diversity professionals and LGBTI Network Leaders in all aspects of LGBTI inclusion within all sectors of the Australian workforce.
