What We Do

Advocacy

ACON has developed numerous policy responses to key issues relating to our clients and communities.

We increase understanding and awareness of the issues which impact on the health and wellbeing of our communities through
policy development, advocacy, research and communications.

National LGBT Health Alliance

National LGBT Health Alliance

ACON is a founding member of the National LGBT Health Alliance, Australia’s national organisation for LGBT health.

The National LGBT Health Alliance is an alliance of organisations across Australia that provide programs, services and research in the areas of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) health and HIV/AIDS.

Submissions + Other Resources

In order to ensure that the issues affecting LGBT people and people with HIV are heard by government and decision-makers in our society, ACON regularly makes submissions to inquiries and provides briefings on key policy issues.

Policy Statements

A lead agency in LGBT health and HIV policy development

ACON has developed numerous policy responses to key issues relating to our clients and communities. We continually provide policy advice to the ACON Board, other divisions within ACON, and external stakeholders such as the NSW and Commonwealth Governments, and other non-government organisations.
