Daytime Counselling

Sometimes it can help to talk to someone apart from your partner, family, or friends. Being able to bounce ideas and thoughts off someone can help you improve how you feel about yourself and open up new options and choices in your life.

Access To Counselling Services

ACON counselling and beyond

To access counselling at ACON, you need to ring an intake officer on (02) 9206 2000 or walk in to the ACON Sydney office between 11am and 1pm Monday to Friday. The intake officer will talk to you about what you’re looking for and assess the best and most appropriate service for you – whether it's here at ACON or elsewhere.

HIV Diagnosis Priority Service

Have you been recently diagnosed with HIV?

Who you talk to now could have a significant impact in the future.

You can take control by calling us and we can offer:

  • Telephone or face-to-face counselling within one working day
  • Confidential support, practical information and contact with other HIV+ people
  • An opportunity to think about your options, discuss who you want to tell and plan what to do next

After Hours Counselling

Operating Monday to Thursday evenings, this service provides medium-term counselling. This is a 26 week block of one counselling session per week. Appointments are available at 6pm and 7pm and each session runs for 50 minutes.

The service specifically targets people living with HIV/AIDS, members of the GLBT community, unwaged or low income earners and clients who cannot attend daytime counselling. Unfortunately, this service is unable to see:
