2013 HIV data shows promising start to Ending HIV

ACON has welcomed newly released data which shows a reduction in HIV notifications in NSW during 2013, but says the information needs to be interpreted cautiously as efforts continue to end HIV transmission in the state by 2020.

UPDATE: STI testing guidelines for men who have sex with men (MSM)

STI testing Guidelines for men who have sex with men (MSM) have recently been updated. The ‘Australian Sexually Transmitted Infection and HIV Testing Guidelines for Asymptomatic Men Who Have Sex with Men 2014'have been developed to encourage regular STI screening of MSM including those with HIV, and those who do not have symptoms.

Sydney Candlelight Memorial to commemorate loved ones lost to HIV/AIDS

Sydney's annual remembrance event for people lost to HIV/AIDS will take place again this year in May to coincide with International Candlelight Memorial Day on Sunday 18 May. The event is co-produced by ACON and Positive Life NSW and will be held at ACON's and Positive Life's Sydney offices at 414 Elizabeth St Surry Hills. The hour-long ceremony will begin at 3:30pm.

WATCH: PBS Regulatory Barriers Removed for HIV+ Australians

WATCH: ACON and medical practice Holdsworth House have teamed up to help promote a recent change to the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) which affects people with HIV. The change means that today anyone in Australia with HIV who has a Medicare card can receive subsidised treatment through the PBS.
