2nd National LGBTIQ* Domestic and Family Violence Conference

The 2nd National LGBTIQ Domestic and Family Violence Conference is a unique platform which focuses on appropriate service and policy responses to LGBTIQ domestic and family violence (DFV) and innovative prevention programs. The conference is organised biannually by the NSW LGBTIQ DV Interagency Working Group and will be held in Sydney on Thursday 19th and Friday 20th September 2013 at the NSW Teacher's Federation in Surry Hills.

Rights Groups Encourage LGBTI Voters To Know Where Major Parties Stand

Party responses to LGBTI 2013 Election Survey released. Today the NSW Gay & Lesbian Rights Lobby, Transgender Victoria, Victorian Gay & Lesbian Rights Lobby and OII Australia released the party responses to the LGBTI 2013 Election Survey. The party's response, along with an assessment of their answers of each question is available at www.lgbti2013.org.au.

Word of Mouth is for lesbians and same-sex attracted women (SSAW). The Word of Mouth campaign acknowledges pleasure as a significant contributing factor in drug use and body modification practices. We want to offer realistic and practical harm reduction strategies to the SSAW and lesbian communities to ensure that health risk is minimised as far as possible.

Recruitment for SPANC has been extended! Research suggests that gay men are over 20 times more likely than others to develop anal cancer. This study aims to gather information to help guide the possible future introduction of regular anal screening programs for gay men.
