13/01/2012 - The Oxford Street Safety Project (OSSP) is a collaboration between ACON's Anti-Violence Project and Will Field, a 22 year old gay man who initiated the very successful, first Drag Tag event in Oxford St in April 2011. The result is the Oxford Street Safety Project, incorporating the drag event as an important component of a broader initiative to increase community safety around the Oxford Street precinct.

ACON has launched a new campaign, titled Word of Mouth, for lesbians and same-sex attracted women (SSAW). The Word of Mouth campaign acknowledges pleasure as a significant contributing factor in drug use and body modification practices and in so doing also offers realistic and practical harm reduction strategies to the SSAW and lesbian communities to ensure that health risk is minimised as far as possible.

A recent attack in Zetland, Sydney, underlines the need for our community to be vigilant about personal safety and to continue to take particular care when using online dating websites.
Men using online dating services to meet other men should remain extra vigilant until the suspect is apprehended by police.

09/12/2011 - A new education campaign titled, The Big Picture, aims to put gay men in the picture about the state of the HIV epidemic in NSW in 2011.
The aim is to provide research and notification statistics in a user friendly format that offers the most up to date information about where things are at with HIV.
