Out With Cancer

ACON is involved in an international study on LGBTQI+ experiences of cancer and cancer care. We are interested in the experiences of all LGBTQI+ people who have had cancer, or who have had medical intervention to reduce cancer risk, across all cancer types. We are also interested in the experiences of LGBTQI+ cancer carers, and people who have cared for a LGBTQI+ person with cancer.

We will use this information to develop better information and support for LGBTQI+ people with cancer and carers.

The project is funded by an Australian Research Council Linkage grant, in conjunction with the ACON, Cancer Council NSW, Prostate Cancer Foundation, National LGBT Health Alliance, Breast Cancer Network Australia and CanTeen.
